Life's like a multiple choice question, sometimes the choices confuse you, not the question itself

Don’t cry outloud, be a stronger you

Very surprised to watch Jimmy Fallon singing this song in one of his funny sketches on youtube. He has a great musicality.

It’s been a few decades since the last time I listened to my mother’s favorite tune. It was big in 1978.

She kept playing this song over and over like there was nothing else worth listening. And Diana Ross’ ‘It’s my turn’ too was one of her faves.

When I asked what’s so fascinating about this song, she said

“The lyrics, it tells everyone how to be strong by hiding the feelings, because being desperate and frustrated isn’t sexy at all”

It says: “Don’t cry outloud, just keep it inside, learn how to hide your feelings…. Fly high and proud, and if you should fall, remember you almost had it all”

Come to think of what my mother had said,

The real strength is the one left unspoken, hiding behind three things in you: sorrow behind your smile, love behind your anger and meaning behind your silence.
